As Salaamu’Alaikum

Dear Young Muslims,

Today’s lesson is about BismiAllah

What does BismiAllah mean?

It means “In the name of Allah.”

When should we say it?

We should say “BismiAllah” before everything we do.

Why do we say it?

Because everything we do, we should do it for Allah's sake, to please Allah. This means even the little things like smiling at someone or picking up a pen someone has dropped. If we do these things we should do it not only to be friendly to that person or to help them, but also to please Allah. It also helps us to do only good things and keep away from bad things. Suppose you're used to starting everything with BismiAllah and then one day you're going to do something, which you know is wrong. If you start as usual with BismiAllah, how do you think you will feel? You're doing something you know Allah will not like but you are starting in His name. Probably you wouldn't feel very comfortable about it.

So saying BismiAllah before everything makes us think about what we're doing, whether it will please Allah and insha'Allah will help us to keep away from doing bad things. Starting with BismiAllah is also a way of asking Allah to help or protect you in what you're doing. If we do things in Allah's name, then insha'Allah, Allah will help us in that and let us receive His blessings.

So, don't forget, anything you do, start with BismiAllah, in the name of Allah!
