  • It is a 5-mile cave that is 600 feet deep and drops 40 feet down from the cave opening
  • The cave was formed 10 to 15 million years ago
  • In 900 AD, the first Indians were known to have used the cave
  • It was discovered by pioneer Solomon Lick in 1979
  • Public tours began in 1923
  • Today, it is a dry cave and maintains a steady temperature of 70-71 degrees
