Hijab-Ez Friends Reviews:

"I have only two words for the creative, fun and educational Islamic Rose Books. Thank God! It’s such a pleasure to place these books into the hands and the minds and the hearts of every child, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, with the comfortable knowledge that the uniquely crafted lessons within will leave the readers touched and all the better for it!"

"Islamic Rose Books are great! Mrs. Delgado and Rose sure know how to hook a kid's interest. Every time my mom got a new chapter, she read the books to me and my brother. We sat with our eyes glued to her! After the first couple of chapters, we both started to pester her over and over to find out where the rest were! It was so much fun to read about Rose, and the way the stories are written, they leave you in suspense!"

After reading Ms. Delgado's first book in her series, I could not help but continue on to this, her second. While written for ages 9-12 (and well written, I might add), the book was highly enjoyable for me as an adult. It is a story of young girls encountering a world of anger and hostility, and finding positive ways to counter those forces. One cannot help but smile at the outcome, which crosses all religious and international boundaries to speak of the compassion and caring all people can have for one another. I admire the author's smooth, clean writing style and the clarity of her message--this is a must read!

The story of Rose and her Grandmother continues in this book, the second of four in the Islamic Rose series. After meeting her grandmother's Saudi Arabian guests, Rose encounters Muslims living in her home town, and attending her public school. She also encounters prejudice and bigotry at school when one of her new friends is teased for wearing a scarf. Rose, in her typical upbeat style, solves the problem in a unique and interesting way.

Like the first book in the series, Hijab-ez Friends is both entertaining and informational. In a lot of ways, these books remind me of PollyAnna; the kids are clean, kind, happy, optimistic and (at least by the end) full of joy -- the way you'd like kids to be.
